Description: Rabbits are brown to grey in colour with long ears and a small tail that is white underneath. They can grow up to 45-50cm in length and have long strong back legs for running. Rabbits mate throughout the year however most litters are born between February and September.

The female (doe) can have an average litter of 5. Rabbits tend to inhabit grassland/meadows and heaths. They are common in parks and on golf courses. They live in burrow systems called ‘warrens’.

Rabbits can account for millions of pounds worth of damage each year to agricultural crops, they are also responsible for the undermining of buildings which could in turn course structure collapse.
